Tender Zaatar Cheese Buns is a savory treat that has a beautiful Mediterranean flavor.

To Make Your Dough

Mix 2 cups of flour and add 1 tablespoon of yeast and sugar.

Add a tablespoon of baking powder.

Add 1 tablespoon of sugar.

Mix very well before adding 2 cups of warm water or milk.

Cover the mixture and let it rest for 10 minutes.

When the mixture becomes jiggly, add ½ cup of oil (Mazola or Canola oil) and 3 cups of flour.

Mix for 2 minutes. 

Then knead it for 2-3 minutes.

After preparing your dough, cut it into desired size. Let each stuffed ball rest for 5-10 minutes.

For the sesame topping, dip a rested ball into olive oil and then the zaatar.

Bake at 375ºF until slightly golden. It is about 15 minutes depending on your oven just keep an eye on the oven.
