Equipment

  • Blender or food processor

Ingredients

  • 2-4 cups ice
  • 1 cup lemon juice about 6 lemons
  • 1 cup packed mint
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 cups water

Instructions

  • Add the ice, lemon juice, mint, sugar, and water into a blender and blend them until incorporated.
  • If you like the lemonade to be more like a slushy, add more ice. Chill, serve, and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use the electric juicer or the hand juicer to juice the lemons. You can microwave them for 20-30 seconds and roll them firmly against the kitchen counter. It is a good way to extract the maximum juice especially when using the manual juicer.
  • You can first zest the lemons and store them in a freezer bag for up to 6 months to use them for other recipes. A great way to reduce waste!
  • For the ultimate benefits, consume the lemonade within a day or two maximum. Cover the glass or store it in a bottle in the refrigerator. Give it a good stir before serving each time.
  • Adjust the tartness or sweetness of your lemonade by adjusting the amount of sugar you use. You can use any sweetener you like.
  • For frozen mint lemonade or lemonade slushie. add a little water and plenty of ice. For a smooth lemonade, use less ice and more water and blend them until fully liquid.
