This coffee banana shake is a well-balanced smoothie with the right amount of caffeine to start your day on the right foot. It is also a perfect snack and Suhoor.
1tablespooninstant coffeedissolved in 1 cup of cold water
1¼cupfrozen banana(175 grams)
4pitted datessoaked in hot water to soften
honey, or any sweetener of choiceto taste
1teaspooncocoa powder
1½tablespoonnut butter of choice
1¼cupmilk of choice
½teaspooncinnamon
pinchof cardamom
Instructions
Soak the data in hot water for 10 minutes to help them soften.
Discard the excess water.
Add all the ingredients to a blender and blitz until smooth.
And here you have it, enjoy!
Notes
To make your shake thicker, you could add some ice.
If you want to make your shake ahead of time, it's better if you add the bananas and blend when you're ready to enjoy it.
If you made your shake the night before and decided to add oats, make sure to add more milk in the morning as oats absorb a lot of the milk.
This recipe calls for frozen bananas, so to do that, slice a large banana and keep it in the fridge for at least 2 hours. It is recommended to leave it overnight.
