Instructions: Stuffing and Baking

10 Minutes Dough Preparation

Mix 2 cups of flour and add 1 tablespoon of yeast and sugar.

Add a tablespoon of baking powder. Though it is optional, it would make your dough fluffier.

Add 1 tablespoon of sugar.

Mix very well before adding 2 cups of warm water or milk.

Keep mixing until it is no longer lumpy yet smooth.

Cover the mixture and let it rest for 10 min.

When the mixture becomes jiggly, add 1/2 cup of oil (Mazola or Canola oil) and 3 cups of flour.

Mix for 2 min. Then knead it for 2-3 min.

Cheesy Filling

Soak the cheese for a few hours to remove the excess salt if you are using cheese in the water brine, make sure you soak it

Cut the rested dough into the desired size. Let each stuffed ball rest for 5-10 minutes.

For the sesame topping, dip a rested ball into olive oil and then the zaatar.

Bake at 375ºF until slightly golden.

Keep an eye out. The baking might be ready within 15 min or sometimes more.

Ingredients
  

10 Min Dough

  • 5 cups flour
  • 1 tablespoon yeast It doesn't matter what kind.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar

Cheese Filling

  • 2 cups Mozzerella Shredded
  • 1 block cream cheese Your choice, softened

  • Panela
  • Nabulsi

    What could I say other than Masha allah Masha allah Masha allah how good this recipe is. The bread is soft and pillowy and stays so even a full 24 hours after baking. The combination of the gooey cheese with the soft bread and salty tangy zaatar is a literal melt in your mouth heaven of deliciousness. This has become a regular in my household and no matter how much I make they always seem to be gone within a half day!
