Everyone makes Chicken Fatteh almost the same way, except some omit the rice. I decided to add my personal touch to it to make it extra delicious. The new addition here is the Tazah Aleppo Pepper which gives it a beautiful flavor. Of course, you can use any other Aleppo Pepper brand that is available in your kitchen.

This meal is the perfect choice for family and guests. You can prepare it with a short list of ingredients or you can also add chicken or meat. You have a variety of choices!
Chicken Fatteh, in particular, would satisfy a whole bunch of mouths. A layer of bread, spiced rice, some garlicky yogurt sauce, shredded chicken, another round of yogurt sauce, and garnished with crunchy nuts would make the perfect savory meal!

Easy Steps to Prep
First, boil the chicken with black pepper, cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of salt. Then, discard the water and shred the chicken.
Next, sauté the sliced onion in butter or ghee until golden, then add shredded chicken and spices.
Up next, let it cook for another 5 minutes. Cook the rice in 1 tablespoon of oil and add the spices.
After that, for the yogurt sauce, I prefer frying my minced garlic before adding it to the yogurt, but you can skip that and add it raw, without the butter.
Later on, fry or air-fry the cubed pita bread and nuts. Layer the bread, rice, some sauce, chicken, yogurt sauce, and nuts.
Finally, serve it hot, so the bread doesn’t stay crunchy.

- 1 tablespoon butter or ghee
- 2 pita bread
- Pine nuts or almonds
Rice Ingredients
- 1½ cups basmati rice
- 1½ teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon 7 spice
- ½ teaspoon coriander powder
- ½ teaspoon @tazah aleppo pepper
- 3 cups water
Yogurt Sauce Ingredient
- 1 cup yogurt
- 3 cloves garlic
- lemon juice to taste
- 2 tablespoon s water
- salt to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions

I’ve been wanting to make this since I had it at a friends house years ago. It’s so much easier than I thought and it was delicious! My kids loved it.
What type of yogurt is used – Greek or whole milk?
Whole milk is best, but you can use greek yogurt if thats what you have and thin it out with water.
