Ready to take your Middle Eastern experience to the next level? Introducing the viral Smashed Burger Tacos, reimagined with an enticing Middle Eastern twist. Picture this, warm, pillowy tortillas, topped with perfectly juicy beef infused with aromatic spices, garnished with chopped vegetables and garlic sauce for that authentic Middle Eastern flavor. Sounds yummy, doesn’t it?
I personally think that this Middle Eastern version is so much better than the normal smashed burger tacos. It resembles Lahm Bi Ajeen (Lahmacun), Meat Stuffed Pitas (Palestinian Arayes), and Kafta at the same time, but this is just a quick shortcut to making something so delicious.

Serving Suggestions
Elevate your Middle Eastern Smashed Burger Tacos experience by pairing them with the right side dishes and toppings. Here are a few suggestions that will leave a good impression.
If you want to complete the Middle Eastern profile of this dish, you can serve it with sumac onions. They are so easy to make, all you have to do is thinly slice red onions and toss them with sumac, add a dash of salt and a splash of lemon juice. Let the onions marinate for at least 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together and enjoy it with your tacos along with a few tomato slices.
Keeping the Middle Eastern vibes going, you can top your tacos with Garlic Sauce – Middle Eastern Toum. Check out my recipe for details.
If you desire an extra touch of sweetness and depth, a drizzle of high-quality pomegranate molasses works wonders. You can find it at any Middle Eastern store.
For added freshness, consider adding shredded lettuce. If you wish to take it a step further, you can pair them with a bowl of salad.
For a delightful crunch add some Middle Eastern pickles. You can go for pickled cucumbers, turnips, or beets.
Of course, you do not have to strictly stick to one of these suggestions, feel free to mix and match between them until you get something that you like!

Tips for The Best Smashed Burger Tacos
Opt for soft and pliable tortillas that can hold the juicy smashed burger and toppings without breaking apart.
You can use any size tortilla you like, it’s just the portion of beef that would be different.
A larger tortilla would require a little more cooking time, about 2-3 minutes. The goal is to have a small layer of beef, not something thick, so it cooks quickly.

How To Make Smashed Burger Tacos
To start, mix the ground beef along with the seasonings and the finely chopped onion and parsley. Mix until well combined.
If you’re using small taco-sized flour tortillas, then add about a golf size amount of beef to the tortilla, making sure it’s well spread to the edges.
Then, add to a lightly sprayed pan and place beef side down.
Next, press down firmly using a spatula to smash it down.
After that, let it cook for 1 minute or 2 until browned, and flip. You should see it completely brown and no longer pink, and it doesn’t have any pink running out of it.
Finally, remove and serve.
