History of The Recipe
The first bagel dates back to the 17th century in the city of Krakow, Poland. Bagel balls were gifted to women after childbirth. The round shape symbolized long life and good luck for the baby; it was believed that Bagels had magical powers.
Later on, bagels were imported from Eastern Europe to the United States by immigrants. They became widely popular as they are a low-cost filling staple.

Bagels balls with cream cheese are the only dough that gets boiled before you bake them. Once you shape the dough into a circle, you should dip it in boiling water for 30 to 60 seconds. Then, drain it and bake it for about 10 to 12 minutes.

Tips and Tricks
You should lightly flour your hands before preparing the dough. This prevents the dough from sticking to your hands.
Use kitchen gloves in order to keep your hands clean and to be able to work better with the dough.
Dip your fingers in warm water and rub them across the seams so that they fuse together in case you were not able to seal the balls.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Yes, the dough can be prepared ahead of time and stored in a container in the fridge. The dough can last for 1-2 days in the fridge before baking it.
Yes, of course, you can. All you have to do is put the leftover bites in a zipped plastic bag and place them directly in the freezer. It is preferable to double bag them in order to avoid freezer burn. You can keep them in the freezer for around 1 month.
In order to reheat them, you have to bake them in the oven at 375 degrees F for about 10-15 minutes. If they are frozen, make sure to completely thaw them first.
This is not recommended since the bagels will get chewy and soggy, and there’s no guarantee that the dough will cook evenly and properly.

In my families words, “These are the bomb”. They were perfect and so delicious. Will be a new favorite! Thank you!
Made these today they are absolutely delicious. Exceeded my expectations.
I have made this recipe so many times allahuma barik it’s great and quick! It’s become a favorite and I always refer to it, sometimes making slight adjustments. For example, not boiling it if I want to be quick, and it still turns out great! (Since I’m not always looking for a bagel). It’s been shared with others as well alhamdulillah!
It gets softer as you knead the dough and let it rest, so don’t worry if it seems it may not be coming together.
Jazak Allahu khayr!
